Why Sway & Co exists
"A rocking chair you rebuy every two years isn't a good rocking chair."
That's the idea Sway & Co was built around. Too many rocking chairs on the market are designed for one single moment — a nursery, a season outdoors, a passing trend — and end up replaced within a year or two. We wanted to build something different: a chair that stays part of your home long after the reason you bought it has changed.
A mechanism built to stay silent
Before anything else — before the fabric, the colour, the silhouette — we looked at the single most common complaint with rocking chairs: a mechanism that creaks and wakes a sleeping baby, or simply gets annoying over time.
Every chair we select is chosen specifically for a tested, silent rocking motion. It's a small detail most brands don't mention. For us, it's the whole point.
Materials chosen for years, not seasons
Bouclé, velvet, corduroy, rattan, solid wood — every material in our collections is chosen for how it holds up, not just how it photographs. A chair that softens with use rather than wearing out is the whole idea behind Sway & Co.
That's also why our chairs move between rooms so easily — a nursing chair built well enough for the first year is built well enough for the living room in the years after.
